Childhood Apraxia of Speech Summit
Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) is a complex motor speech dysfunction that presents unique challenges in assessment, differential diagnosis, and intervention. Despite consistent therapy and dedicated home practice, progress can sometimes be slower than anticipated, leaving clinicians and families searching for answers.
Distinguishing CAS from other speech sound disorders, particularly dysarthria and other speech sound disorders, can be challenging because of overlapping clinical characteristics. Understanding these differences and selecting appropriate, evidence-based intervention approaches are essential for achieving meaningful outcomes.
To address these challenges, we are delighted to host the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Summit this November, bringing together leading experts from across the globe to share current research, clinical insights, and practical intervention strategies.
Our goal is to empower speech-language pathologists with greater diagnostic clarity, clinical confidence, and effective intervention approaches while helping families better understand their children’s speech development and therapeutic journey.
We look forward to an engaging, evidence-informed learning experience that bridges research and clinical practice, ultimately benefiting children with CAS and the families who support them.
